India's first and oldest national park, Corbett is a major attraction among the wildlife and nature lovers. Developed and by Late Jim Corbett in 1936, it is home to more than 585 species of birds, 37 species of dragonflies, 33 species of reptiles, 7 species of amphibians and 7 species of fishes. The national park covers a vast area of 520.8 sq. km and is popular for its rich wildlife and scenic beauty.
Even though the main highlights of the this national park are endangered Bengal tigers, crocodiles and leopards, the visitors can easily spot other wildlife animals such as hogs, boars, sambas, sloths, pangolins, elephants, langurs and gorals. Further, the presence of Himalayan Black bears, black bucks, yellow-throated martens, spotted deers and Indian Grey Mongoose enhances the charm and beauty of this park. Also, a change in the climatic conditions of the Corbett makes it a preferable habitat among the resident as well as the migratory birds like eagles, parakeets, peacocks and jungle fowls.
